Today there were some scheduling problems.  The test that was scheduled for 9:00 this morning had to be rescheduled because they did not let mom know that she should not eat.  At first I was mad.  Then I realized that this could be God's hand, and after having some people pray, I relaxed and let God work.  Funny how sometimes we want to do it for Him, and He just wants us to let Him have it.  Anyway, they had to cancel the colonoscopy that is scheduled for tomorrow and reschedule the test from this morning for tomorrow morning.  Evidently the Gastric Stomach Emptying test in the morning will be one that will determine whether or not mom will receive the transplant, but the colonoscopy can be rescheduled for another time since it will not be a factor in the answer of yes or no from the transplant team.

This afternoon, was follow-up meetings with Finance and the Pulmonologist.  There are still a few insurance questions that are waiting on answers, and they were all pleased to hear that we have already begun fund raising.  The bottom line is that Dr. Zaas and one of our transplant coordinators have given us an unofficial  yes.  She still must pass the Gastric Stomach Emptying test tomorrow, but if there are no problems there, they will give us an official yes on Tuesday.


She was told that the fund raising and relocation is next!  As soon as the money is raised, we will let them know, and the doctor said that he would like to see her relocate as soon as possible keeping in mind that she could be in Durham as long as 6 - 8 months.  They will discuss the relocation time frame on Tuesday and let us know more information after that meeting.  The doctor does not want to allow too much time to pass and chance mom getting worse or ending up in the hospital again.
